Call for Nominations

The Council of School Leadership is currently seeking nominations for several key positions within our executive team. As an integral part of our organization, we invite you to nominate qualified candidates or self-nominate for the following positions:

President-Elect:  One-year term (stepping into the President role July 1, 2027 – June 30, 2029) The President-Elect prepares for future leadership by becoming thoroughly familiar with all CSL operations, current issues, and Council concerns. This officer assists the President as required and assumes all presidential duties and responsibilities in the President's absence. Beyond internal operations, the President-Elect is responsible for identifying and recommending new services to enhance the value of membership for all Council members.

Treasurer:  Two-year term (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2028) The Treasurer manages the Council’s financial health and oversees membership growth initiatives. Primary responsibilities include the proper handling of all funds, preparing budgets in consultation with the Executive, and providing financial statements for meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The Treasurer also maintains a vital liaison with the ATA to manage fees and grants, ensures financial accountability across all committees, and serves as one of the Council’s official signing officers.

Two Member-at-Large Positions (one northern representative and one southern representative): These positions offer an opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and initiatives of CSL. Members-at-Large actively participate in decision-making processes, represent diverse perspectives across our province, and advocate for the interests of our members.  These positions have two-year terms, commencing July 1, 2026, and ending on June 30, 2028.

To nominate yourself or someone else for any of these positions, please use the links below and complete the nomination form. The online call for Nominations will close on March 26th, 2026. For President Elect and Treasurer, no further nominations will be accepted. For Member At Large nominations, a call for further nominations from the floor will occur during the AGM.

Elections will be held at the CSL AGM on Monday, April 20th at 4:00 pm in Banff during the uLead Conference. If candidates are not in Banff for uLead an opportunity to join virtually will be provided. All nominees must hold membership in the Alberta Teachers' Association as well as the Council for School Leadership.
